Who is the father of value investing?
Benjamin Graham, dubbed the "father of value investing," became famous for his investing style, literary contributions on investing, and research. Graham lectured at his alma mater, Columbia University, and eventually became a professor of finance there.
History of Value Investing. Value Investing was developed in the 1920s at Columbia Business School by finance adjunct Benjamin Graham (1894-1976) and finance professor David Dodd MS '21 (1885-1988).
Benjamin Graham is regarded by many to be the father of value investing. Along with David Dodd, he wrote Security Analysis, first published in 1934.
Buffett might be the most famous investor of all. Known as the "Oracle of Omaha," he worked for and learned from Graham until the value investing pioneer retired. Buffett then proceeded to establish his own investing partnership to focus on buying stakes in quality companies at fair prices.
His contributions spanned numerous fields, primarily fundamental value investing. Graham is considered the "father of value investing," and his two books, Security Analysis and The Intelligent Investor, defined his investment philosophy, especially what it means to be a value investor.
Much is made of Warren Buffett's conversion from his early days as a deep-value investor along the lines of his mentor Benjamin Graham to one who appreciates growth stocks. But Buffett remains a value investor at heart, and rarely pays up for stocks or businesses at Berkshire Hathaway (ticker: BRKb).
Seth Andrew Klarman (born May 21, 1957) is an American billionaire investor, hedge fund manager, and author. He is a proponent of value investing.

Buffett follows the Benjamin Graham school of value investing. Value investors look for securities with prices that are unjustifiably low based on their intrinsic worth. There isn't a universally-accepted method to determine intrinsic worth but it's most often estimated by analyzing a company's fundamentals.
Who is the No 1 investor in world?
Warren Buffett is widely considered to be the most successful investor in history. Not only is he one of the richest men in the world, but he also has had the financial ear of numerous presidents and world leaders. When Buffett talks, world markets move based on his words.
1. Warren Buffett: Warren Buffett is the CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, and he is one of the Top 10 Richest Investors in the World. His success can be seen through his unique strategies and approaches to investing.
Warren Buffett is widely considered the greatest investor in the world. Born in 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffett began investing at a young age and became the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, one of the world's largest and most successful investment firms.
Benjamin Graham was one of the most influential investors of the 20th century, known for his value investing philosophy and his role as a mentor to Warren Buffett.
Warren Buffett started investing at a young age, buying his first stock at age 11 and his first real estate investment at age 14. Buffett studied under the legendary value investor Benjamin Graham while pursuing a business degree at Columbia University (Harvard had rejected him).
His acclaimed book, "The Intelligent Investor," changed the lives of many — particularly Warren Buffett's, who was one of Graham's students at Columbia Business School. Graham played a significant role in shaping Buffett's career and investment philosophy.
- Never lose money. ...
- Never invest in businesses you cannot understand. ...
- Our favorite holding period is forever. ...
- Never invest with borrowed money. ...
- Be fearful when others are greedy.
Mr Buffett invented nothing. He is an entrepreneur and an investor. He began buying Berkshire-Hathaway, a textile company, back in 1962. After acquiring all of BRK, he branched out into other industries and made his first million by roughly age 30 and his first billion by age 56.
Apple makes up a whopping 45.1% of Berkshire's entire portfolio, a position valued at roughly $163 billion. Berkshire also has a not-insignificant $4 billion position in HP Inc. Thus, technology is now Buffett's favorite sector to invest in ironically, although he would not classify it as such.
He is the founder, chairman, CEO, and CTO of SpaceX; angel investor, CEO, product architect, and former chairman of Tesla, Inc.; owner, chairman, and CTO of X Corp.; founder of the Boring Company and xAI; co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI; and president of the Musk Foundation.
Who owns BlackRock?
Institutional investors are the largest owners of Blackrock shares. Amongst BlackRock's major shareholders are investment and asset management companies like Vanguard Group and State Street Global Advisors, which have some of the largest stakes.
Notable proponents of value investors include Warren Buffett, Seth Klarman, Mohnish Pabrai, and Joel Greenblatt.
Warren Buffett drives a Cadillac XTS, a car that is far from the flashy, high-end luxury vehicles that one might expect a billionaire to own. Consistent with his down-to-earth lifestyle, Buffett's choice of vehicle is practical, reliable, and understated.
Leading the race is Tesla and Space X Founder Elon Musk. With a current net worth of US$263 billion and an annual growth rate of 129 per cent, Musk is anticipated to reach US$1.38 trillion in the next two years at age 52.
Warren Buffett is often cited as the most successful investor of all time through his holding company, Berkshire Hathaway.
